STUDY GUIDES
Dear San Diego Teachers, Students and Parents:
Back by popular demand are these short video study guides as preparation for Student Night At The Opera. These are fun, lively discussions of the operas and the music by our Education Director Dr. Nicolas Reveles. You will find three different versions for each opera: a video directed to elementary school students (Grades 3 through 6), middle school students (grades 7 through 9) and high school students (grades 10 through 12). The videos differ slightly in terms of grade-appropriate language and depth of information. They are illustrated with colorful images and animation in order to help teach students basic facts about each opera. Study questions are attached to each of the operas’ pages in order to help reinforce the information given to the students. These questions can be used for private study of course, but will be much more useful for the students to use in class as preparation for the trip to the opera or after the class has returned from the opera, in way of follow-up. (Some of these questions might even be a fun way to pass the time on your bus trip back from the theatre!) Enjoy your exploration of opera and feel free to give us your feedback at educate@sdopera.com.
