Antonello Allemandi

San Diego Opera debut. Italian Conductor Antonello Allemandi’s recent performances include at The Elixir of Love and Turco in Italia at Berlin Staatsoper, The Italian Girl in Algiers at Milan’s La Scala, The Barber of Seville at Opéra de Lille, Turandot in Moscow Bolshoy and Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci in Mumbai. He has conducted La traviata, Il trovatore, The Elixir of Love and I puritani at Vienna Staatsoper, A Masked Ball and Tosca at the Opéra Bastille, Il pirata, Werther, Aida and Tosca at the Deutsche Oper and Staatsoper Berlin, La traviata, Carmen, Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci in Cologne, Don Carlo at Madrid’s Teatro Real , Lucia di Lammermoor at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Liceu de Barcelona and in Rome, La cenerentola at the Met and at Hamburgische Staatsoper, and The Barber of Seville at Covent Garden and Vienna Staatsoper. Allemandi has led orchestras throughout Europe, including Nouvelle Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre de Montecarlo and Lille, RAI Italian orchestras, the orchestra of the Accademia de Santa Cecilia and the Rossini Opera Festival (ROF) in Pesaro. He was Music Director of the Orchestra Colonne from 1992 to 1997. Upcoming performances include Anna Bolena at Washington National Opera and La Cenerentola in Munich.
