San Diego Opera debut. Colombian tenor David Guzmán made his Houston Grand Opera debut with the concert premiere of Cruzar de la Cara de la Luna at the Wortham Theater Center. He recently appeared as Rodolfo in Puccini’s La bohème with Opera in the Heights, Don José in Bizet’s Carmen with Rapides Symphony Orchestra in Louisiana, and gala concerts with both Lake George Opera and Opera in the Heights. He has traveled to his native Colombia as a guest artist in De regreso a mi tierra: Three Colombian Tenors at the Teatro Municipal de Cali, and was a soloist with the Latin American Music Festival Orchestra in Fort Worth, Texas. He toured the Florida Keys with Jacksonville Lyric Opera singing Rodolfo in La bohème, and has also performed Don José in Carmen with the Natchez Opera Festival. Guzmán made his professional debut at the Teatro Colon in Bogotá, Colombia, and holds a master’s degree in music from Texas Christian University. Future engagements include Ferrando in Così fan tutte at Opera in the Heights and Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly at the Algonquin Playhouse in New Jersey.
