Join San Diego Opera Board President Karen Cohn and friends at The US GRANT before the Saturday Opening Night performances of Samson and Delilah and Murder in the Cathedral. This elegant pre-opera dining experience will set the stage for your evening with a sumptuous three-course dinner with hosted wine.
PRE-OPERA SUPPER CLUBS & BISTRO BRUNCHES
Dine with your fellow opera lovers at The US GRANT for our new pre-opera meal series. Beginning two hours before every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday performance, guests enjoy an elegant buffet with a no-host bar while exciting and varied speakers from San Diego Opera impart interesting insights about opera and the secret happenings behind and in front of the red curtain. Open seating allows the opportunity to mix and mingle with other guests.
AIDA POST-OPERA CAST PARTY
It’s all about stargazing and people-watching at this elegant post-opera event! But why stop at gazing? Anyone and everyone is invited to meet and mingle with the opera stars, directors, designers, nightlife-loving audience members and leaders of San Diego’s social and business circles. The event immediately follows the Aida Opening Night performance and features a sumptuous buffet with hosted cocktail bar and complimentary champagne.

Community Conversations are free, exciting and thought-provoking collaborations at well-known venues around town. All conversations feature Dr. Nicolas Reveles, Geisel Director of Education, and other exciting speakers.

Join Dr. Nicolas Reveles, our Geisel Director of Education, for creatively-themed pairings of delectable cuisine and exciting opera discussions at some of San Diego’s hottest restaurants or attend Great News Cooking School for tantalizing cooking classes with an opera theme.
FRIDAYS REINVENTED
Friday nights at San Diego Opera will never be the same! Signature cocktails for every performance, an elegant outdoor café, a hip outdoor photo spot, new quick bites to eat and a new 7pm start time are just some of the exciting touches we are adding to reinvent Fridays at the opera. You won’t want to miss this!
PRE-OPERA LECTURES
One hour before every performance, ticket-holders may attend an exciting lecture to get you in the mood for the performance. All lectures are inside the Civic Theatre.
