Join Dr. Nicolas Reveles, our Geisel Director of Education and Outreach, for creatively-themed pairings of delectable cuisine and exciting opera discussions at some of San Diego’s hottest restaurants. Additionally, he will join Chef Katherine Emmenegger, CCC at Great News! Cooking School for tantalizing cooking classes with an opera theme.

The Daughter of the Regiment by Gaetano Donizetti, is an exciting, sparkling and hilarious opera which tells of an orphan French girl adopted by a regiment of soldiers in the waning days of World War II. The independent, spunky tomboy Marie loves Tonio, a peasant, but the Marquise tries to marry her off to a rich Duke. Reveles, The Geisel Director of Education, introduces us to artist Rich Black, whose latest works for our 2013 season are taking San Diego by storm. We’ll focus on his
creative process and exactly what it is he must do in order to communicate the stories and the emotions of these works that we love so much. A limited amount of posters
