Hear Dr. Nicolas Reveles, San Diego Opera’s Geisel Director of Outreach and Education, bring to life one of the noblest gentlemen in literature – Don Quixote. After the lecture and dinner, stay and immerse yourself in a live poetry reading of love sonnets in keeping with the romanticism of Don Quixote.
Currant Brasserie
A modernized version of a French bistro. Here you will find the essence of French cuisine combined with American ingenuity and soul. The mantra is fresh seasonal food with uncompromising quality.

Mixed greens salad with lemon vinaigrette, cherry tomatoes and breakfast radishes
Roasted root vegetable soup with cumin crème fraiche
Second Course
Roasted Jidori chicken with braised sunchokes, fingerling potatoes, shiitake mushrooms, pearl onion and marsala reduction
Grilled Chinook salmon, lemon risotto, asparagus, tarragon vinaigrette
Vegetable risotto, candied salsify, arugula, oven dried tomatoes, baby zucchini
Third Course
Dark chocolate hazelnut brownie with butterscotch mousse and dried strawberries
Meyer lemon and cranberry tart with sweet ricotta and crunchy oat topping

We’ll reel you in with a chat about Peter Grimes, given by San Diego Opera’s Geisel Director of Outreach and Education, Dr. Nicolas Reveles while you enjoy a Peter Grimes-inspired meal of fresh sustainable local seafood. Afterward, we hope to lure you to stay for a discussion of sustainable fishing practices with a local fisherman.
Sea Rocket Bistro
San Diego residents Dennis Stein and Elena Rivellino recently opened Sea Rocket Bistro, a farm-to-table restaurant in North Park focusing on local and sustainable seafood. Ingredients sourced directly from farms and fisherman, as much as possible, this bistro is already known for serving whole grilled San Diego sardines as well as local sea urchin, both fresh out of the shell and as a bisque, two unique dishes that you won't find anywhere else in the city! Exclusively locally crafted beers, as well as wines mainly from southern California are offered.
